Even though our time in Italy has come to an end, we wanted to share with you one of our favorite adventures…
We had the opportunity to explore the amazing town of Bracciano & tour the famous Castello Odescalchi di Bracciano (remember that time Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes got married…..this is where it happened!). Located on the southern shore of Lake Bracciano, this magical castle had some of the most breath-taking views. Stunned and awestruck by its beauty and rich history, we walked the castle grounds and snapped some of our favorite spaces….Check it out!
The exterior of the castle was lined with beautiful brick and gorgeous stone, aged over 7 centuries.
The most unique aspect of the castle’s interior was its art and ceiling-work. Every room we walked into had elaborate ceilings, frescoes and friezes galore.
The furniture and decor was like something out of a history book. Accented in every room, exquisite decorations, fabrics and tapestries were rich in color and reminded us that the smallest of embellishment can enrich a space and evoke endless luxury…. we loved every detail.
And the heart of every home… the KITCHEN. We just couldn’t get over that this original kitchen had the same finishes that so many of our clients are asking for, dark woods, stone floors in gray tones and cararra marble!! I mean…. talk about timeless design!! We loved the single shelf adorned with clay pottery with pops of yellow and green too.
And….remember that one time we posted about “shelvies“….. well we wish we could have included this picture. How gorgeous are these vases?? They’d be awesome for accessorizing any type of shelf!
All in all, Castello Odescalchi di Bracciano was one of our favorite places we visited this trip. It gave us a newfound inspiration for upcoming projects…..we pretty much never wanted to leave.
Until next Thursday…
