If you were to ask us, the Mudroom is the best thing to happen since sliced bread. An organized place to put all the items you hate seeing scattered around your home? Umm, yes please! With a new school year approaching, a Mudroom could be just what you need to keep your life in order (along with all your family’s
junk, school supplies, shoes & sports stuff).
Here are some mudrooms we think are awesome and why!
The Combined Mudroom/ Laundry Room:
If space allows it, having a combined mudroom/ laundry room is super beneficial. Coming in after football practice or even just a muddy day would be no big deal if your mudroom and laundry room were in the same spot. The mess is condensed to one area and so is your clean-up!
The Locker Room Look:
Storage is, without a doubt, one of the most important parts of any mudroom. You could create a place for anything and everything; shoes, backpacks, instruments, folders, sporting equipment, cleaning supplies, pet products, etc. With a mudroom like this, everything you want to be tucked away can be easily and the things you want to be displayed can be beautifully.
Cubbies with Bins:
When it comes to storing shoes, cubbies with bins are a really cute idea. As you can see, the design of this mudroom is extremely functional and still really cohesive. Not to mention cheaper without full cabinets and drawers…
A Bench with Purpose:
If you’re wanting a bench in your mudroom, kill two birds with one stone and turn the bench into a functional compartment for maximum storage. A set of drawers or a liftable chest under your bench is perfect for storing sporting equipment and shoes!
If the litter box or dog bowl is in the mudroom, this might be a good place to keep your pet’s care products. Turning a trash pull-out into a place for pet food storage (like the picture above) is super easy and super functional.
A Mudroom that Hooks it Up in More Ways than One:
You want backpacks, purses and coats to be easily obtainable if in a rush out the door. With that being said, hooks are your best friend in a mudroom. Another aspect of this particular mudroom we are obsessed with is it’s design and decor. Who says mudrooms have to be boring? From the shiplap wall to the mounted rhino head, this mudroom is anything but boring. Adding a funky light fixture, a pop of color and a few personal touches will make the mudroom your mudroom.
Now, master that mudroom!
Until next Thursday…
