Friends in Well-Designed Places

Happy Thursday! Inspiration can stem from many places for a designer…but the best ideas are those from well-trusted, artistic friends. This week, we highlight my design besties and their amazing work. difu Megan Newman Accentrics Interiors Megan and I met in college studying Interior Design, we spent countless hours studying, working on projects together, drinking wine and eating pizza. Luckily our husbands became pals too and now we are forever friends watching our children grow and supporting each other through this crazy life of balancing motherhood and our design work. Megan is a georgeous brunette that is just as smart as she is beautiful.  I am always in awe of how hard she works and what an incredible mother she is…..and she is just beyond talented. Megan and her partner Sandy, of Accentrics Interiors in Tampa, have exquisite style, incredible industry knowledge and are a constant inspiration to us. I love their quest for perfection when it comes to finding the perfect textiles and furniture finishes. I am always inspired by their partnership and super jealous that Sandy gets to work with one of my best buds.  djf Bryce Schulte Bryce Schulte Bryce and I go back, like way back…. I remember when Bryce’s design journey started, One night at his apartment many moons ago, probably watching the Bachelor, I was talking about my Interior Design classes and he said “ya know what? I think that’s what I want to do”….and that’s just what he did. And boy, did he! He attacked his design degree while working multiple jobs and has continued to climb the ladder of success in Commercial Design ever since. He has designed local well known restaurants...

The 5th Wall

One of the most challenging aspects of what we do is pushing ourselves to think outside the box… and then getting our clients on board. Sometimes the most outlandish ideas turn out to be the best ones & our clients’ favorites. Rachel’s Roses and Their Accent Chairs

Welcome back, Friends! Like most girlies during the summer season, we love to kick back on Monday nights with a glass of wine and hang with one of our fav Bachelorettes, Rachel. This seasons’ men have had us on our toes and have kept us coming back each week to see who remains. Even though we didn’t always agree with Rachel’s choices (#BringAlexBack2k17), the 4 men left are awesome and all unique in their own way. With hometowns just around the corner, we can’t help but imagine what home looks like to these men. So without further ado, because our lives revolve around furniture, these are the accent chairs we imagine each man to have sitting in their living room… djfk Bryan via ABC Bryan is a suave, Miami-native who has had no problem sweet-talking his way into Rachel’s heart. There is, without a doubt, passion between the two love-birds. That is why our pick for Bryan is this red, velvet statement piece. kdjfk via Blog Lovin’ djfkd Dean via ABC Oh, how we love our Dean…This heart-throb has made us (and Rach, I guess) fall with his adorable humor and tailored good looks. For this reason, we see Dean having this modern, loungy, arm chair in his living room that has clean cut charm just like him.  kdjfk via Minted djfkd Peter via ABC Peter has always been a favorite and for good reason; He is charming, established and makes the gap look so so good. It isn’t hard to imagine Peter sipping on a glass of scotch from a chair and ottoman pair like this; bold and beautiful. Yup,...

BIG News

Hi Everyone! We’ve been teasing exciting things that have been in the works for a while, but we are finally ready to share the BIG news. (well, there’s more to come, but we ok I, can’t take it any longer.) Almost 6 years ago, my husband Richard encouraged me as a stay-at-home Mom, to take my part time business and passion for design and see where it would go. I was nervous and intimidated, but with unwavering support from my parents, family and friends we decided to go for it. Beyond my wildest expectations, it wasn’t very long before Rik joined me to support the vision we had for my growing business. Not to mention our loud, crazy, Italian household is filled with three active, young boys that continue to keep us on our toes. There has truly never been a dull moment as we navigate the adventure of work-life-balance and a growing business. One intern working with us at our dining table soon grew to a home office with two amazing women (shout out to my dearest Shelle & Jana) that are still next to us today, now we are getting ready to move into our third and largest office, as we continue to need more space because of our fantastic and expanding team. Even as I type this, I’m almost flabbergasted at how far we have come in such a short amount of time. Long hours, literal blood, sweat and tears and here we are! Growing organically, designing for wonderful clients across Florida and working harder everyday at the vision Richard and I have had for this design business since the beginning has been more than I anticipated. Ok….the big news,...
