A Quick Lesson in Color

Color is one of the number 1 ways we express ourselves as human beings. But little do we know, each color does something different to our minds.

This being said, it is important to know how color can be most useful in your home.

Attributes: regal, passionate, powerful, raises blood pressure, evokes hunger

Red is an awesome color for spaces of high energy. People tend to put red in living rooms or kitchens because they are the “hearts of the house”. Being very regal, red also works well in theatre rooms.

Attributes: energetic, fun, fresh

Orange is said to increase productivity and evoke creativity. That being said, orange is good for home offices and areas where work gets done. Easily over-powering, orange should be used in small doses to make a modern statement.

Attributes: happy, lighthearted, exciting

Yellow is instant happiness making it perfect for kitchens,  home offices and playrooms. It is said to bring about good memories and inspire good conversation. Yellow could be problematic in bedrooms or places of relaxation because it is so high energy.

Attributes: natural, clean, harmonious, healthy

Green is most associated with nature and healthy living so it is perfect for a fitness rooms or a relaxing study. Avoid using high-energy greens in bedrooms where good sleep happens.

Attributes: calming, versatile, peaceful

Blue is the most versatile color because it can be used in virtually any room. Bright blues evoke excitement and could be useful in living rooms or kitchens while darker blues are perfect for bedrooms where a peaceful mood is preferred.

Attributes: royal, luxurious, strong

Purple combines the passion of red and the calmness of blue making it perfect for bedrooms and other private spaces. Purple gives the impression of depth making it useful in small spaces.
